The pair of acts let slip to BBC6 Music while performing Down Under at the Big Day Out festival.

Lily teased the radio station: "You can expect to see me there (at Glastonbury). I'm supposedly playing."

While Joe Goddard from Hot Chip added: "I don't know where or when, what stage or whatever. I can't wait for it."

The strange vagueness veiling these comments either reflects the nonchalant cool expected of today's young rock stars or the fact that no acts are officially confirmed for Glastonbury until Michael Eavis says so. Even if they are The Who.

Meanwhile, The Police have reportedly booked rehearsal space, which would suggest rumours of an upcoming reunion tour incorporating a Glastonbury appearance are true, unless they're just wanting to brush up on their old tunes for fun. The reformed band are also rumoured to be playing at the start of the Grammy Awards next week, so that might be what they're rehearsing for. Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland are all expected to attend these rehearsals at the Lions Gate Studios in Vancouver this week, according to our dear friends at the CMU.

Glastonbury 2007 will take place at Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th June (with the gates opening on the Wednesday). Bjork, Chumbawumba, Madness and Kasabian are all expected to appear at the festival, which is strongly rumoured to be headlined by The Killers, Arctic Monkeys and The Who respectively.

As a new measure to stop touts, all those wanting to buy a ticket for the festival will need to pre-register between Thursday 1st and Wednesday 28th February 2007. You will be able to register both online and by post. Stay posted for full details on this.
