Jersey Live spawns Guernsey offshoot
United Kingdom | |
20 November 2006
Guernsey Live will take place on Saturday 14th July and Sunday 15th July 2007 at a venue yet to be confirmed. More information, including ticket prices and availability, will be available soon.
As well as seriously enriching the lives of music fans on the island - previously neglected by most of the UK's live music scene - this news should come as music to the ears of Jersey Live fans. Organiser Warren Holt had earlier warned that the festival might have to re-locate in its entirely to Guernsey, or even mainland UK, after rising policing costs threatened the ongoing financial viability of the event, despite its popularity. Thankfully the second event in Guernsey (where the authorities are more supportive, financially) should help to spread the costs and ensure the longterm success of both ventures.
No acts have yet been confirmed for either festival. Jersey live - which takes place next year on 1st and 2nd September - has previously hosted Razorlight, Editors, Kasabian, Snow Patrol and The Zutons, and was nominated this year for a UK Festival Award. Stay posted for more information on both events.
