Big Names Line Up For Oxjam

Scissor Sister, Badly Drawn Boy, Hot Chip and Kasabian are just some of the artists taking part in the month long charity
festival, Oxjam, which takes place throughout October. You can still join them to help make a difference...
Oxjam kicks off this weekend with an estimated 12,000 people around the UK readying themselves
for all manner of parties, gigs, club nights, musical stunts and bizarre record attempts.
Other acts performing
include Embrace, De La Soul, The Futureheads and Get Cape. Wear
Cape. Fly, but charity Oxfam is encouraging anyone to get involved in any way they can.
spokesman said: "We see Oxjam as a kind of Live8 in your back garden - every single person who gets out there and
gets involved is the real star of this festival.
"Together, we can all do our bit to fight poverty and
enjoy some great new music at the same time."

More than 1000 events
have already been organised and Oxfam is hoping to raise in excess of £500,000 towards relief projects
around the world.
The Futureheads have already started the ball rolling by busking on the tube,
while Kasabian have formed a string quartet.
