Fatboy Slim Goes Small For Proms

United Kingdom United Kingdom | | 18 September 2006

The former Housemartins crooner will take fans on retro trip back to his days as a bright-eyed Brighton DJ during an intimate gig in the upstairs of Camden's Lock Tavern on Friday, 27 October.

Having performed to an estimated 350,000 people on Rio's Copacabana Beach, as well as colosal coastal bashes in the UK, Australia and Argentina, it will be Norm's smallest gig since first cutting his teeth as a young DJ in his hometown.

Performing as part of the first ever BBC Electric Proms, only 100 people will be allowed into the tiny show, with tickets being given away through Radio 1. According to the BBC website, the lucky few will be treated to "an outstanding set of classic tracks from his early career."

Jamiroquai and Basement Jaxx have also just been added to the lineup. Snapper bashing thug, JK, and his merry band will also be play an 'early career' spanning set - possibly because their newer stuff is a bag of stew? They play Camden's Jazz Cafe on Wednesday 25 October.

Basement Jaxx will be bringing a load of special guests along with them for their Crazy Itch Club Night in Camden's Koko on Sunday 29 October. Expect high jinks and Sunday night denial.

The BBC Electric Proms is a massive mutli-media festival, centred around Camden's Roundhouse venue, which encourages new and established acts to undertake original music projects.

Other artists already confirmed include The Who, Damon Albarn's new supergroup The Good, The Bad and The Queen and James Brown. Click here for more info and the full lineup as it stands.
