Eavis Denies Glasto Headliner Leak

09 August 2006
The NME claims that Glastonbury Festival organisers have lined up The Killers to headline Friday and Bruce Springsteen on the Saturday.
However, Eavis has denied the report. He told BBC6 Music: "It couldn't be further from the truth, we're not looking for either of those two bands for either of those two days, Kylie probably for the Sunday headlining slot. Hopefully anyway if she feels well enough to do it, but the other two, totally up a tree on that one!"
The NME apparently told someone at BBC6 Music how they had uncovered next year's headliners after doing some digging, however it seems they might be wide of the mark.
A statement from Glastonbury Festivals said: "Contrary to what you may have read elsewhere today, the headliners for Glastonbury next year have not been decided. Everyone involved in the Festival is looking forward to 2007 and the licence being granted later this year but the line-up is a long way from being confirmed."
News of the headliners will be
officially announced after tickets go on sale on 1 April, 2007.
