'Postie probe' over missing T tickets

Royal Mail has launched an urgent investigation into missing T In The Park tickets, after fans anxiously waiting for their weekend passes in the post were left empty handed...

The Daily Record reports that Royal Mail investigators have been called in, just weeks after two postal workers quit while bosses looked into a ticket scam at Radio One's Big Weekend in Dundee.

One fan's ticket for T In The Park has vanished after a postman tried to deliver it and left a card asking him to come in and pick up the special delivery. However, it could not be tracked later at the sorting office.

Two more cases of tickets going missing at the same postal office in West Lothian have also been reported. Royal Mail have since confirmed that a full investigation is underway.

It's skant consolation to Brian Ferguson though. The 21-year-old festival fan fears he'll miss out, despite buying his ticket via the Ticketmaster website in February.

He said: "I am absolutely furious. My pals will be going and I won't. It makes it even worse to think the postman has actually been to my door with the ticket.

"I'm not interested in compensation, I just want to go to T in the Park. I have paid for it."

T In The Park takes place this weekend (8-9 July) at Balado, Kinross, Scotland, and features The Who, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Franz Ferdinand and many more. Click here for more details.

A spokesman for Royal Mail said: "The security of the mail is of paramount importance to Royal Mail and any such cases are treated very seriously indeed."

A spokeswoman for Ticketmaster said: "All tickets have now been dispatched. We urge the customers in question to contact us as a matter of urgency where we will do all we can to assist."

T In The Park organisers have warned that tickets made available for sale at inflated prices on eBay will be cancelled. The move comes after tickets have appeared at extortionate prices, after selling out within hours of going on sale.
