VF's 'Discovered' band to play Wireless

The Strokes are going to have a lot to live up to at the 02 Wireless Festival on Wednesday, 21 June, after our 'Discovered' winners from 2005 - Intervurt - were confirmed as one of the band's support acts following a massive vote organised by London Tonight.
The South London band have been building a grass roots fanbase across the country over the last five years and throughout that time they have amassed a massive arsenal of huge songs as well as having had the opportunity to hone their live set to perfection.
Last year VF readers put Intervurt on a tour of UK festivals, including Get Loaded In The Park, Bestival, Guilfest, and Beautiful Days, following their conclusive win of our 'Discovered' new bands search, which has this year been rebranded as 'Local Heroes'. Click here for more.
Already confirmed for the second stage at Guilfest this year, and with a host of other offers
in the pipeline, singer Paul O'Keefe said: "Last year's Discovered project was a real boost for us. We played
at half a dozen events and got loads of new fans as a result. Festivals may not be the only way to get your music across to
new audiences but they are one of the best.
"We're looking forward to Guilfest as the event's organiser
Tony Scott has been great to us over the last few years and we're grateful to him for making us a regular feature at his
festival - but Hyde Park is obviously going to be fantastic as we'll be sharing the stage with some of the biggest
names around right now."
Don't forget to get involved in the Local Heroes competition,
either as a band or as a voting fan, but be quick as the competition doesn't run for much longer. Click here.
