First acts confirmed for Reading/Leeds

The Reading and Leeds festivals take place at Little
John's Farm, Reading, and Bramham Park, Leeds, respectively on the bank holiday weekend of
25-27 August.

Franz Ferdinand headline
Friday's main stage at Reading before performing at Leeds on the Saturday. Second on the bill are Kaiser
Chiefs, preceded by Audioslave, Feeder, Belle & Sebastian,
Fall Out Boy, The Subways, and Panic! At The Disco. The Radio One/NME Stage
will be headlined by Primal Scream.
Muse
top Saturday's bill at Reading and will close Leeds on the Sunday night. Arctic Monkeys, The Streets,
Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Dirty Pretty Things, The Futureheads, and The
Cribs will all play beforehand. Jack White's new group The Raconteurs headline the Radio One/NME tent.
Pearl Jam will close Reading festival on the Sunday night after
playing Leeds on the Friday. Placebo and My Chemical Romance are the only other acts confirmed
for the main stage, but Maximo Park, The Rakes and The Kooks have been
announced to play the Radio One/NME Stage.
More acts will be confirmed to play in the coming
weeks and months, all playing across four main arenas at both festivals.
