Headliners announced for Wireless

20 February 2006

The second Wireless Festival takes place in London's Hyde Park for four consecutive dates in June from Thursday 22nd - Sunday 25th.

On the Thursday David Gray will headline with support from KT Tunstall. Friday sees The Flaming Lips, DJ Shadow, and Pharrell performing with the headliner yet to be confirmed.

James Blunt will headline the Saturday and will be joined by Zero 7, Eels, Nile Rodgers and Chic, before Depeche Mode round things off on the Sunday joined by Goldfrapp, and Bauhaus.

For the first time, Wireless will also be taking place in Leeds - in the grounds of Harewood House to be exact - for two dates over the same weekend.

The Saturday of the northern leg will feature Goldfrapp, DJ Shadow, and Pharrell with a headliner due to be confirmed (expected to be the same as London's Friday headliner). While on Sunday The Who top the bill, with Super Furry Animals and The Flaming Lips also involved.

Loads more acts will be confirmed for both festivals with a wealth of underground talent expected to be included as well as more established bands and artists.

The two events will also feature acoustic performance spaces, chill out areas, side shows, markets, world food caterers and street theatre to give both the 'festival feel'.

Tickets go on sale here this Friday (24 Feb) and are priced 37.50 for each day with concession available for multi bookings. O2 customers are also entitled to special deals.

Gates open at 2pm on the Thursday and Friday and at 1pm on the Saturday and Sunday.
