The Rakes confirmed for IOW

Following their last minute cancellation at Bestival last summer, The Rakes are once again preparing to make the trip across the Solent - this time for the Isle Of Wight Festival on Friday's bill.

The Londoners join The Prodigy, Placebo, and Goldfrapp, all of whom were announced to play the festival before Christmas.

The Rakes were due to play the island's other major festival Bestival last September, but were forced to cancel after singer Alan Donohue fell ill at Leeds Festival two weeks before and failed to recover in time.

The Isle Of Wight Festival 2006 takes place at Seaclose Park, Isle Of Wight, from 9-11 June.
