RETRACTION: Loos journalism!

08 December 2005
Shit!
Yesterday we published a story revealing that Reading had been
rated as having the worst toilets by festival goers, however we inaccurately published a shot of toilets from
Glastonbury 1998 which are owned by Portable Toilets Ltd.
Following a call
from the company earlier today, we would like to sincerely apologise for any connection made between the toilet
firm and the fact that our readers rated Reading as having the worst festival loos. It was a stinking oversight.
Portable
Toilets Ltd explained that they had no toilets on site at this year's Reading and Leeds Festivals and that the only
big music events they laid toilets at were Live 8, V Festival, and Glastonbury
- which were among the nation's favourite facilities.
Owner Desra Cruise said: "It was a bit gut wrenching to see
it (the photo) as people immediately identified us. Our toilets are different to everyone else's."
Ms Cruise was
alerted to the inconsistency by three separate colleagues, all concerned that the association to the story could harm
the business.
VF's Editor commented: "You can't turn your nose up to that."
Once again, Portable Toilets
Ltd were not present at Reading and Leeds and we can vouch from personal experience that their toilets are very good. We hope
that clears up any mess.
