The Rakes have been forced to pull out of next weekend's Bestival on the Isle Of Wight, with singer Alan Donohue still suffering
from a sore throat.
The band also cancelled their appearance at yesterday's (Sunday) appearance at the Electric
Picnic in Dublin.
A statement from The Rakes explained that Donohoe has been
told to rest due to exhaustion and a throat infection.
The beleaguered band recently battled through the Reading and Leeds without Donohoe, with
members of Bloc Party, Maximo Park and Towers Of London filling in.
is not yet known whether a replacement acts will be found so late in the day. Either way, The Magic Numbers,
Mylo, Royksopp, The Go! Team, Super Furry Animals and
loads more will still be there.
Bestival takes place next weekend (9-11 September) at Robin
Hill Country Park, Isle Of Wight.
A few weekend tickets are still available. For more information and to buy
