Weekend verdict: V Good!

Scissor Sisters and Franz Ferdinand brought the curtain down
on the Chelmsford leg of the tenth V Festival last night (Sunday), joining forces to perform a cover
of David Bowie's 'Suffragette City'.
Earlier, the two co-headliners treated fans to tracks from their eagerly anticipated
second albums.
Oasis closed the Staffordhsire event in tremendous form, repeating the success
of the previous night in Chelmsford, and playing perhaps the best festival sets they've ever performed
on UK soil.
Liam was most definitely back to his best, goading the Essex male crowd, "I hear you all drive
cheap wheels?", and comparing an inflatable penis in the crowd to Pete Doherty.
Other highlights of the weekend
included sets from Kaiser Chiefs, Ian Brown, Dizzee Rascal, Idlewild,
Bronze Age Fox, The Prodigy, The Ordinary Boys, and Goldfrapp.
The Strongbow Rooms was one of the most popular venues with crowds jostling to see the
likes of Bez, Plump DJs, and Krafty Kuts.
However, it was not all
good. A huge crowd surge during Kaiser Chiefs' set caused several minor injuries and a huge fight broke out between two
gangs on the Saturday, causing police to move in.
Even worse, there were also far too many Hollyoaks actors mincing
about backstage!
