More metal for Damnation

United Kingdom United Kingdom | | 01 August 2005

The two noise makers will head up the Jilly's Rockworld Stage with the likes of Panic Cell, Fourwaykill and hotly tipped The Imbreds.

The capture of Raging Speedhorn and Sikth is a major scoop for the festival, which started on the threads of a music message board in December last year.

Damnation 2005 takes place Jilly's Rockworld, Manchester, on Sunday, 16 October.

A spokesman for the festival said: "It's been an insane ride from having a novel idea for a 'Pit In The Park' with a handful of small bands to what Damnation Festival has mutated into.

"Landing Raging Speedhorn and Sikth is absolutely unbelievable, we would have laughed at such a suggestion back in December but things have really taken off in our first year and we've got the fingers crossed that we can build on a successful debut.

"We go on about Damnation being a festival 'by the fans for the fans' like Tony Blair's spin-doctor but in our case it is true; our name, venue, artwork and bill have all been influenced, or dictated in some cases, by our strong on-line community.

"With the kind of support we've had from them, we're sure Damnation will prove to be a event that both ourselves and our friends deserve."

The complete line up is as follows:

Main Stage: Raging Speedhorn, Sikth, Panic Cell, FourWayKill, The Inbreds, Forever Never, Allerjen, Amends to the Dead.

Terrorizer Stage: Entombed, Gorerotted, Gutworm, Conquest of Steel, Mercury Rain, Nailed, Dawn of Chaos.

Tickets are priced at £13 (plus booking fee) and are available here. For more information clickhere.
