New bands stage at Leeds Festival
This year’s Carling Weekend: Leeds Festival will feature some of the newest and best talent the North of England has to offer, with Lee Sounds Unsigned providing a stage for the first time.
The objective of Lee Sounds Unsigned is to provide a grassroots programme to deliver a showcase platform for up and coming unsigned Northern talent.
We are 100 per cent behind this move by Mean Fiddler to introduce an element of brand new music to the event, and we genuinely hope to see some of the bands back next year on the bigger stages.
Lee Sounds Unsigned began in April with the best entries winning a tour of the UK. The winners of the Glasgow, Leeds and Manchester events will play the stage alongside those chosen from their demos in the coming weeks. There are around 20 slots up for grabs, although the applications window has now closed.
The winners and full line-up for Lee Sounds Unsigned will be announced by Mean Fiddler later this month.
Leeds Festival 2005 takes place simulateously with Reading Festival from 26-28 August 2005 at Bramham Park, Leeds. Pixies, Iron Maiden and Foo Fighters headline, with loads more on the bill. Weekend tickets are sold out but there are a number of day tickets left. Click here for the full lineup.
