The Scottish rockers are taking time out from the studio where they are recording the follow up to 2003's 'Twelve
Memories'.
Morrissey was apparently due to headline the festival on the Saturday night but pulled
out after claiming he had never agreed it and that record execs had gone over his head.
The former Smith
has now dumped Sanctuary Records and blasted staff over the confusion, insisting he plans to take his business elsewhere
before his next album release.
He said: "My contract with Sanctuary ended last year and hasn't been renewed. In truth, since our closing dates last year (04) in London and Dublin, my personal involvement in anything that has followed has been sub minus zero.
"There will be a new signing for the new album, so please wait until you hear the news from my lips. Everything else is just gossip."
Morrissey has also been further annoyed by incorrect record company news suggesting he has fallen out with longtime drummer Dean Butterworth, who has recently joined rockers Good Charlotte.
He added: "I am annoyed that Sanctuary have thrown this in without consulting either Deano or myself."
The Isle Of Wight Festival 2005 takes place over three days at Seahorse Park, Newport, between
10-12 June.
Faithless, Razorlight, R.E.M, Snow Patrol, Roxy
Music and Goldie Lookin' Chain are among those already confirmed with others
to be announced in the coming weeks.
