04 May 2005
Now in its 41st year, Cambridge Folk Festival once again unfolds at Cherry Clinton Hall,
Cambridge, between 28-31 July.
No prizes for guessing it's predominantly folk music, but the festival also offers a
wide range of sounds, from world music to blues and avante garde to rock.
On the bill already are Damien
Dempsey, Hayseed Dixie, Lucinda Williams, Lunasa, Peatbog
Faeries, The Duhks, The Proclaimers, Tinariwen, and loads more.

It is expected that other contemporary bands will join the likes of Idlewild on the bill, with more acts to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
Festival
boss Eddie Barcan recently explained to VF about the challenge Cambridge Folk faces in attracting younger
audiences, while maintaining the appeal to its traditional fanbase. Click here for the full interview.
A full four-day ticket costs £80 with day passes available
from between £27-£38, with concessions for children and young people. Camping costs extra with one campsite already sold
out, so best book quick if you want to spend the weekend there. More info on Cambridge Folk Festival is available here.
