Return to The Glade
United Kingdom | |
08 April 2005
After its acclaimed debut last year, Britain's only three day dance festival is back, taking
place from 15-17 July at a secret location in a country estate within 80 miles of London (to be revealed to ticket
holders near the time).
This year, the event's capacity increases by 3,000 to 8,500 and it seems to have attracted
a higher pedigree of artists, with Two Lone Swordsmen, Luke Vibert, Hexstatic,
LCD Soundsystem, Layo & Bushwacka and Rennie Pilgrim all on the bill.

One of the organisers, Nick Ladd, said:
"The Glade ethos has always been about mixing the biggest, most respected names in dance music with the best up and coming
acts from around the world. After five years of hosting the Glade Stage at Glastonbury, the organisers will once again
be bringing their underground ethic to a whole new generation of passionate dance followers."
Special features at The Glade 2005 will include electronic
art installations, cabaret, fire jugglers, sword swallowers, nuns on unicycles (!) and loads of other nutters.
You
won't even need to take a rucksack, as the market will be selling everything from clothes to African bed linen and music. Sustenance
of the calorific kind will come in the shape of everything from hog roasts to space curries and lentil burgers. There's
also a healing dome where you can get an Indian head massage, to reflexology and crystal healing. Nice!
