The Licensing God smiles down once more...
Fans of real festivals (whose spirit extend way beyond just music in a field) will breath a sigh
of relief that the powers-that-be have granted Beautiful Days its third consecutive public entertainments
license for 2005.
This year the festival is growing up slightly as well, and both the dates and the capacity have expanded
due to popular demand. Visitors will now be able to enjoy live music on the Friday as well as the Saturday and Sunday and
the festival has increased in numbers slightly this year to accomodate more children and more weekend campers. A large amount
of money has been allocated to massively increase the size of the children's area and a new family camping area has been sited.
Acts
confirmed include festival patrons Levellers plus Billy Bragg, The Wonder Stuff,
Steeleye Span, Eliza Carthy, The Beat, Dreadzone and The Peatbog Faeries with many more
to be announced in the next few days. Levellers, Rev Hammer and New Model Army
will also be recreating Rev's album Free Born John for three performances.
There will be more news about the
artists, ranges of facilities and availability of tickets exclusively here on VF in a short while.
The festival is
held at Escot Park in Devon between the 19th and 21st August. More information
can be found on the shiny new VF-designed official website at www.beautifuldays.org.
