Oasis will play the Saturday at Hylands
Park, Chelmsford, and the Sunday at Weston Park, Staffs. A festival spokesperson confirmed
that the band will not have a co-headliner (well, could you imagine the Gallaghers sharing?).
V
Festival 2005 takes place simulateously at the two sites on the weekend of 20-21 August.
Also added
to the line-up are a few long-rumoured acts including Embrace, Maroon 5, Ian Brown,
Athlete and Doves. The surprises come in the shape of Robert Plant, Texas
and Jet.
Dizzee Rascal, Goldfrapp, The Zutons,
Joss Stone, and Goldie Lookin' Chain provide the V trademark 'something for
everyone', with Kaiser Chiefs, The Bravery, Thirteen Senses, 22-20s
and The Music also on the bill.
As yet it is unknown what days and stages they will be performing
on. They join the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Scissor Sisters, The Prodigy
and The Chemical Brothers - all previously confirmed.
Tickets for V Festival go on sale at 9am this
Friday, 11 March, priced at £110 for the weekend with camping, £90 without camping, and £52.50 for day tickets. Virgin Mobile
customers will be able to buy tickets three days from Tuesday, 8 March, by calling 0870 060 3793.
Festival director
Bob Angus said: "V Festival is known for the quality of its line ups and we werenıt going to disappoint
in our tenth year. The acts unveiled today are proof of our commitment to providing an amazing live music experience
for all fans. There's no disputing the quality of these acts."
