The Earlies do a cracking version
of 'Sweet Dreams My LA Ex', in between wowing audiences with their psychedelic textures and Beach Boys-like
harmonies.
Nouvelle Range are typicaly French, smokey and sparse lounge music, while
also keen on the odd cover, with The Undertones' 'Teenage Kicks' and Joy Division's
'Love Will Tear Us Apart' among their repertoire.
Tiniwaren are from Libyan and
met in a refugee camp there in 1979. Their sound is a fusion of Toureg folk songs with electric guitars, using their songs
to communicate the experience of the oppressed.
The Big Chill prides itself on nurturing new and rising
talent. Co-founder Pete Larkin recently told VF: "Our reputation has always been about talent on the way up and helping
to create a name ... We prefer to spot stuff coming through, combining established Big Chill artists with the ones who are
already part of the family, like Norman Jay, The Bays, Giles Peterson, and Mr Scruff, alongside new acts."
