Last month J Mascis, the band's singer and musical driving, performed solo
at a string of intimate UK gigs, fuelling rumours he could be appearing at festivals.
But according
to industry sources, all three original members of Dinosaur
Jr have gone one better, agreeing to reunite for a number of events across Europe and the US.
It
is almost a certainty that the band will play at least one major festival in the UK and are hotly tipped to play Download.
The festival's organisers have refused to confirm any more bands other than those previously announced (CLICK HERE), but a line-up release is due next week.
Dinosaur
Jr formed at the end of the '80s and, aided by the Pixies, helped transfer that era's alt-rock
experimentation into the decade defining grunge sound of the early '90s.
The band were famed for seminal albums 'Green
Mind' and 'Where You Been' before petering out midway through the decade.
