Ian Brown for T In The Park

20 January 2005
The ex-Stone Roses singer revealed the news to 6 Music and
hinted that this could be his busiest year of festivals and gigs since 1989.
A fortnight ago we reported
that Brown had been booked for Oxegen in Ireland and predicted he'd also play at T In The Park.

The
two festivals take place over the same weekend (9-10 July) and traditionally have similar line-ups, with acts
making the short hop across the Irish Sea to play at both events on consecutive days.
Brown hinted that he'd be
sticking to his recent policy of playing old Stone Roses classics at the two festivals and said there could be a 'greatest
hits' album of his own on the way.
He also took a swipe at ex-Roses guitarists John Squire, who's
also been playing the band's old tacks live. He said: "I didn't think it was right (for Squire to play Stone Roses tracks
live), because out of respect to the three other lads I'd never played any Roses tunes... (But) I thought, 'If he ain't
got the respect then I'm not gonna have none no more, so I'm gonna play 'em meself now."
Oxegen
takes place at Punchestown Racecourse, Co. Kildare, Ireland. T In The Park takes place at
Balado Airport, Kinross, Scotland. Both are held on the 9-10 July. Tickets will go on sale in the spring.
