Muse announced as headliner for Pinkpop and Rock Werchter

The prog-rock trio from Devon have been busy, pencilling in dates for their international live return with headline sets at a series of major European festivals.

Muse will headline the opening night of the Dutch festival Pinkpop, on Friday June 12. The Pinkpop Festival dates have moved due to the early fall of Pentecost next year and will now take place from Friday 12 - Sunday June 14, 2015 at its traditional festival site of Megaland Landgraaf. Foo Fighters were previously confirmed to headline the closing night of the festival on Sunday June 14.

Megaland Landgraaf is multi-purpose festival venue situated in Landgraaf, Netherlands, and home to the the Dutch festival which celebrates its 46th edition next June and is still to announce dozens of acts for the three day line-up, including one more headline act. Previous headliners have included Metallica, The Rolling Stones and The Cure.

Pinkpop tickets are currently not on sale and are expected to go on general release sale in the new year.

Muse will also headline the closing night of Belgium’s Rock Werchter festival on Sunday June 28. Rock Werchter 2015 will take place in Werchter, Rotselaar, Belgium from Thursday 25 - Sunday 28 June, and will also feature Foo Fighters on the bill.

Rock Werchter was first held in 1974 and is the largest festival in Belgium, and one of the largest and most famous in the world. In 2008, 319,000 visitors over the four days counted. 30% of attendees who are foreigners, with Dutch and British (10,000) as the two most important countries of origin. The festival consists of a large meadow with a main stage and two covered tents (the "KluB C" and "The Barn").

Muse have been in the studio recording their seventh album with producer Mutt Lange, in the hope of releasing it next year. The as-yet-untitled record will be the follow-up to 2012's 'The 2nd Law', which went Platinum in the UK and spawned the singles 'Madness', 'Survival' and 'Supremacy'.
