The Monkey Wrench rockers will play dates in Sunderland, Manchester, London and Edinburgh. The full list of dates are as follows:

Mon 25 May - Sunderland Stadium of Light, Sunderland,
Wed 27 May - Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester
Fri 19 June - Wembley Stadium, London *
Sat 20 June - Wembley Stadium, London *
Tue 23 June - Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh **

* With Iggy Pop & Royal Blood
** With Royal Blood

The dates could allow the band, fronted by Dave Grohl, to play a number of UK festival around the time of the tour, including Download Festival, Isle of Wight Festival and Glastonbury Festival. When Dave Grohl was quizzed by Gigwise earlier this week about the Glastonbury rumours and the fact Emily Eavis wants them to play, Grohl replied: "She hasn't called me yet. The Foo Fighters haven't been there since 1998, and that's a fun festival."

Foo Fighters have never played Download Festival, which takes place over the weekend of June 12-14 next year, however they did top a wishlist of bands that Download Festival forum members voted to play the festival next year.

Isle of Wight Festival promoter John Giddings revealed last month that Foo Fighters had turned down his offer to play the island festival next June.

Tickets for the forthcoming UK stadium tour go on pre-sale on November 19 and on general sale next Friday (Nov 21) at 10am.

Support will come from Iggy Pop and Royal Blood on select dates. Dave Grohl recently spoke to NME of his excitement on first hearing Brighton rock duo Royal Blood: "I saw some live footage of them, and I was so excited to see a band that was heavy, had riffs, had songs, and could really perform, and an audience that was genuinely excited to watch them play."
