The second act announced for Bloodstock Open Air 2015 has been revealed as prog-metal titans Opeth, supporting the symphonic metal headliners on the Saturday night.

Opeth will be performing as part of Saturday's special guest slot that this year was filled by extreme metallers Carcass, while viking black metal act Amon Amarth were placed as Sunday's special guests at the 2014 event. The special guest slot, typically performing just before the Saturday or Sunday night headliner, has previously been held by the large-name likes of Testament, Avantasia, Dimmu Borgir and Meshuggah.

Opeth are returning to Bloodstock for the first time since headlining the festival in 2010, while Within Temptation have not played BOA since their headline performance in 2005; their slot ten years ago marking the band's very first UK festival appearance, and only second ever UK show.

We're thrilled to play Bloodstock again!" enthused the band's frontwoman, Sharon den Adel. "We had such a great time before and can't wait to take ‘Hydra’ to the stage at Catton Park.  It's a really exciting time for us right now and we're looking forward to bringing the fire!!”

Bloodstock Open Air 2015 takes place at Catton Park, Derbyshire on 6 - 9 August.

Earlybird weekend camping tickets are available now, priced at £120 + £7 booking fee for adults, and £35 + £4 booking fee for children age 4-11.
