Slipknot, The Hives, and The Polyphonic Spree
are among the latest additions to the line up for next year's Big Day Out.
Other new additions
include Spiderbait, Regurgitator, Decoder Ring, John Spencer Blues
Explosion, Hatebreed, D4, and antibodean favourite Carl Cox.
One Virtual Festivals reader already excited about donning
his leather mask to watch Slipknot at Big
Day Out is Brixton-based rocker, Simon Bray. He told us: "I'd already booked my ticket, never dreaming my
favourite band Slipknot would
be booked to play at the festival. Now I can dig out my gimp mask, get over to Oz, and rock along with my heroes."
The annual Big Day Out tour takes place across six major Australasian
cities between 21 January and 6 February 2004, also taking in one date in New Zealand.
Today's additions join a
previously announced bill, which also includes Beastie Boys, The Chemical Brothers, Powderfinger, System of a Down, Grinspoon,
The Donnas, John Butler Trio, and Eskimo Joe.
