If you think your band has the will and the talent to open the Mountain Stage at Green Man Festival, you can enter the competition here from now until the 7th July.

Prospective bands can enter the competition by creating an artist profile on the Green Man website, and then uploading a winning video from Youtube or Vimeo, or a Soundcloud playlist.

Lucky entrants who wow leading bloggers such as Dots & Dashes and Hairymouth must be available to play the live final at Dublin Castle on the 23 July. All finalists who are not successful will be invited to play the Green Man Rising Stage, the festival's premier stage for exposing new talent. A leading panel of industry experts will deem one of the six bands the winner, the successful band opening the main stage on Friday 15 August.

Beirut, Mercury Rev and Neutral Milk Hotel will be headlining Green Man Festival 2014 which returns to Glanusk Estate, Brecon Beacons, Wales this year, taking place from 15-18 August.

The festival has a 12 year tradition of bringing together great music within this stunning and intimate festival site. You'll also be able to enjoy comedy, poetry, literature, art & science and lots of fun for those 12 and under, plus a separate area just for teens, spas, therapies, hot piping showers and local ale and cider sipping.
