Weather watch: Field Day and Parklife Weekender

The weather for London's Field Day and Manchester's Parklife Weekender

Fans of East London's leading alternative music festival Field Day might be cursing the weather gods this weekend as Hackney's Victoria Park is due to be hit with wet weather.

Temperatures will however be surprisingly summery, with highs of 23°C expected on both Saturday and Sunday (June 7-8), even though patrons should be dressing for long periods of rain on Saturday, possibly heavy at times, which should desist late afternoon.

Sunday in East London will be better though, mostly remaining dry and seeing longer sunny spells throughout the day. Temperatures will stay high with only a cool summers breeze to prepare for as patchy cloud cover comes over the festival site.

Feel some sympathy for those further north though as Manchester's Parklife Weekender is due to be hit with heavy rain over both days of the two day festival in Heaton Park. The rain is forecast to subside slightly after 7pm on both nights and Sunday Main Stage headliner Foals might be spared the downfall as things begin to clear on the final night. That might be a big consolation to the fans on site though, who should take note that umbrellas are officially banned.

Temperatures in Manchester will be slightly lower than in London too, reaching highs of 18°C over the weekend but staying relatively constant through the afternoons and into the evenings.
