Gerard Way to play global solo debut at Reading and Leeds 2014

50 new names added to the ever growing Reading and Leeds line up

Gerard Way’s first show as a solo artist will be on the same stage My Chemical Romance were famously bottled off of at Reading and Leeds in 2006, he will surely be hoping for a stronger debut this time around. This news comes alongside the announcement of the latest 50 acts added to the Reading and Leeds line up. 

Other names joining Way on the NME/Radio 1 Stage will be the freshly announced Kendrick Lamar collaborator and hip hop heavyweight Schoolboy Q,  soul fuelled rap star Maverick Sabre, Aussie thrash-pop duo DZ Deathrays and the screaming emotion of La Dispute

Headlined by Jimmy Eat World, Gogol Bordello and Of Mice & Men, The Lock Up Stage improves it’s punk and rock credentials adding We Came As Romans, Crosses, Muncie Girls, Brutality Will Prevail, Lesser Key, The HELL, Beasts, Masked Intruder, Emily’s Army and Vales.

King Charles, Southern, We Are Scientists The Amazing Snakeheads, American Authors, Little Matador, The Minutes, Leaders Of Men, The Sunshine Underground, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Sivu, Drowners, Lucius and Saint Raymond have all been newly announced to play the Festival Republic Stage.

Last years new stage the BBC Radio 1xtra Stage boasts a broad display of all things urban, hip hop and grime adding MistaJam, Raleigh Ritchie, Dirty Dike, Edward Scissortongue, Dominique Young Unique, Tempa T, Little Simz, Newham Generals, Adian Coker, Kwabs, Elli Ingram, Hawk House and My Nu Leng who will be joining the previously announced Giggs, Pusha T, Danny Brown and Joey Bada$$.

Reading Festival 2014 and Leeds Festival 2014 take place over the Bank Holiday weekend in August, this year from 22 - 24 August. Reading Festival returns to its traditional home on Little Johns Farm, not far from the centre of Reading, and Leeds Festival also returns to its home of Branham Park, just under 30 minutes from the centre of Leeds by car.

Reading & Leeds Festival tickets are available now, both priced at £202.50 for a weekend camping ticket, subject to an £8 booking fee. Early entry permits are £15 again and Campervan permits at £60. Day tickets are also available now, priced at £92.50 plus a £7 booking fee.
