His Infernal Majesty, better known as Him, will return on the success of last year's 'Tears On Tape' and treat Sonisphere to more than two decades worth of lovelorn metal and eyeliner.

The festival has also confirmed that their Apollo Stage headliners on Saturday July 5, Anthrax, will play a second show on the Friday (July 4) under the Bohemia tent and give their classic 'Among The Living' a full run-through.

Anthrax's Scott Ian said: "We love to play these songs and people love to hear them so we're really fucking excited to be doing this special show the day before our main-stage performance at Sonisphere Knebworth playing (for the first time ever) just the Among The Living record for you, our UK faithful! It's gonna be sick. See you soon my friends."

Comeback Kid have also been confirmed for Bohemia, and Lars Ulrich of that Metallica fame has requested the addition of Belfast's Sweet Savage. Sonisphere have obliged.

The Bots, Rival State, Zico Chain, Straight Lines, Shrine, The Wild Lies, Love Zombies, Stormzone and Black Dogs have all been confirmed for the Jagermeister & Satellite Stage.

Sonisphere Festival 2014 takes place at Knebworth Park, near Stevenage, Hertfordshire from 4-6 July 2014. The Prodigy, Iron Maiden and Metallica headline the festival this summer, which coincides with the 40th anniversary of the first ever live music concert at Knebworth.

Deftones, Alice In Chains, Limp Bizkit, Mastodon, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, Slayer, Dream Theater, Dropkick Murphys and Band of Skulls feature amongst the 2014 line-up.
