We've collated ten of our favourite festivals from across the UK with adult tickets currently on sale for £50 or less, before booking fees. Some have concessionary ticketing options for children, the elderly or for young people. All of them are promising a unique and unforgettable festival experience this year.

Supersonic Festival 2014 - Friday 30 - Saturday 31 May

Location: The Custard Factory, Birmingham

Tickets: Adult weekend - £50.

Returning with more than 10 years of history to its name, Supersonic presents a two day programme in Digbeth’s intimate Custard Factory venue - the place where it all began.

Line-up highlights: Swans, Jenny Hval, Wolf Eyes, Matmos, Sly & The Family Drone, Agathe Max, Sleaford Mods and Evil Blizzard.

Age restrictions: Strictly 18+

SportBeat Music & Sport Festival 2014 - Saturday 7 - Sunday 8 June

Location: Oxstalls Sports Park, Tewkesbury Road, Gloucester

Tickets: Adult - £45. Concessions - £35. Youth (11-15) - £19. Child (5-10) - £10. Under 5's go free.

Returning to Gloucester for its second ever edition, SportBeat Festival will combine a youthful, pop-orientated line-up across three stages and a weekend of sports, including rugby 7s, volleyball and netball.

Line-up highlights: Razorlight, Reverend & The Makers, Hoosiers, Matt Cardle, The Ordinary Boys, The Beat, Lucy Spraggan and more.

Age restrictions: All ages. Under 16′s must be accompanied by an adult.


Bushstock 2014 - Saturday 14 June

Location: Shepherd's Bush, West London

Tickets: £27.50

One of our favourite dates on the London festival calendar; Communion led Bushstock returns to Shepherds Bush in West London for another full day packed with the hottest new talent in the emerging folk, indie and rock scenes.

Line-up highlights: Blaenavon, Chloe Howl, Eaves, Jack Garratt, Hozier, Saint Raymond, The Felice Brothers and Sundara Karma.

Age restrictions: Strictly 18+

Gold Coast Oceanfest 2014 - Friday 20 - Saturday 22 June

Location: Croyde, North Devon

Tickets: Adult weekend - £50. Child (6 - 18 years) - £40. Under 6 - £5.

Now in its 16th consecutive year, Gold Coast Oceanfest hosts another thrilling collaboration between music and sport with the coastal festivities in Devon stretching over three days. Enjoy a top music bill and a host of sport activities, including beach soccer, hand ball, ultimate frisbee, skating, surfing and, for the most dedicated, an Ironman and  Diamond Lady challenge.

Line-up highlights: Natty, Clean Bandit, Nina Nesbitt, King Charles, Hudson Taylor, Luke Sital-Singh, Josh Record and Jack Savoretti.

Age restrictions: All welcome. Everyone under 16 should be accompanied by a ticket holding parent or guardian over the age of 21.

Ghostfest 2014 - Saturday 28 - Sunday 29 June

Location: Leeds University Union, Yorkshire

Tickets: Adult weekend - £37.50

Are you a metal fan looking for a wallet-friendly alternative to Sonisphere or Download? Look no further than Ghostfest, one of the UK’s fastest growing independent metal and hardcore festival. Centred around the Leeds University Student Union, the festival has three stages, a capacity of 2,700 and often sells out so don't waste time in getting hold of your ticket.

Line-up highlights: Being as an Ocean, Nasty, Hundreth, TRC, Rotting Out, Black Tongue and Martyr Defiled.

Age restrictions: Strictly 14+


Tramlines 2014 - Friday 25 - Sunday 27 July

Location: Various, Central Sheffield, Yorkshire

Tickets: Adult weekend - £28. Day ticket - £12.

The city-wide festival, now in its sixth year, takes over the city of Sheffield and 50 of its finest venues plus brings four specially-constructed outdoor stages. Expect a crowd of nearly 100,000 people to descend on the city over three days for a festival only going from strength-to-strength.

Line-up highlights: Katy B, Public Enemy, The Cribs, Toddla T, Slow Club, Gold Panda, Funeral For A Friend, Deap Vally, Boddika, Annie Mac, Bo Ningen and many more.

Age restrictions: Under 14's must be accompanied by an adult. A number of Tramlines venues are strictly 18+, see website.

OutCider Festival 2014 - Friday 1 - Sunday 3 August

Tickets: Adult weekend with camping - £39

Location: Fernhill Farm, Compton Martin, Somerset

Where else but Somerset? OutCider is a brand new festival taking place over three days at Fernhill Farm, in the glorious Mendip Hills. Expect more than 30 acts and all the local cider, beer and alcohol content you poor, under-performing liver can handle. You can also relax in the knowledge that the majority of the food sold on site will be grown or reared on the farm. The Mendip Games will also be making it’s debut at OutCider, so we're sure it's going to be a big debut year.

Line-up highlights: Sonic Boom Six, Neck, Mad Dog McRea, Gorgeous George, The Devils Rejects and Willowen.

Age restrictions: Strictly over 18's. ID will be required if you're fortunate enough to look 25 or under.

Split Festival 2014 - Saturday 9 - Sunday 10 August 2014

Tickets: Adult weekend - £50. Under 11s are free.

Location: Mowbray Park, Sunderland, Tyne and Wear

The brainchild of The Futureheads, Split Festival is really the A to Z of who you need to see in the world of live and loud music. The two day event, newly moved to Mowbray Park in central Sunderland, will host headliners Dizzee Rascal and Maximo Park this year, all part of a huge line-up of local guitar, dance and hip-hop talent to be announced over the coming months.

Line-up highlights: Dizzee Rascal, Maximo Park and The Cribs.

Age restrictions: All welcome. Under 11s go free. They must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Bingley Music Live 2014 - Friday 29 - Sunday 31 August 2014

Tickets: Adult weekend without camping - £49 -. Children weekend (3-12 years) - £34. Under 3's go free.

Location: Myrtle Park, Bingley, West Yorkshire

One of our favourites, Bingley Music Live is a three day extravaganza set in the set in the picturesque grounds of Myrtle Park, Bingley, West Yorkshire. Two stages and a wealth of talent from past, present and future, this festival really stradles the spectrum of taste and talent.

Line-up highlights: Shed Seven, Pet Shop Boys, Example, Chloe Howl, Gaz Coombes, Gorgon City, The Selecter, The South, Naughty Boy and The Strypes.

Age restrictions: There's no minimum age for entry however the festival suggest that under 16's are accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. Infants (under 3-years-old) are allowed in free.

Damnation Festival 2014 - Saturday 1 November

Tickets: £36

Location: Leeds University Union, Yorkshire

More metal than sticking your devil horns up your Myleene Klass, Damnation is back to celebrate its 10th anniversary. We suspected it wouldn't be blowing the candles out without a scream and the festival already has a killer line-up building, including Raging Speedhorn back with all 'original vocalists'.

Line-up: Cannibal Corpse, Saint Vitus, Bolt Thrower, Raging Speedhorn and more to be announced.

Honorary mention

Farmfestival 2014 - Friday 1 - Saturday 2 August

Tickets: Adult weekend - £52.50. Child (12-17) Weekend - 42.50.

Location: Gilcombe Farm, Bruton, Somerset.

Farmfestival comes in just £2.50 over our threshold and for this discrepancy we couldn't justify their exclusion. One of the most beautiful and homely music festivals in the UK, Farmfestival has been doing it for the people for the better part of a decade.

Line-up highlights: Public Service Broadcasting, Melt Yourself Down, Alpines, Ralph Lawson, DJ Food, Skinny Lister and Beans on Toast.
