If England's football team were to get past the group stages their next match would be scheduled to take place at either 9pm UK time on the Saturday (June 28) or the Sunday (29) of Glastonbury Festival. The date in which the national team will play is dependent upon the place they finish in the group, first place means a Sunday game and second place would mean a Saturday fixture. Anything other than first or second will mean England's World Cup dreams are over for another four years.

Coincidentally, Glastonbury's Sunday night headliners, Kasabian, were used to endorse and launch England's away top back in 2010. Their singer, Tom Meighan said then: "I'm the first person to wear it which is crazy. They said they wanted to take it away from the footballers for once and do something up to date. They wanted to combine with rock n roll. They're two powerful things... I'm honoured to wear it."

A statement on the Glastonbury Festival website said: "In previous years, we have endeavoured to show England's matches on big screens where possible (other nations' matches have not been shown). However, with the potential England matches clashing with the headline sets at this year's Festival, the decision has been made that - should England qualify from their group - their last 16 match will not be shown at Glastonbury 2014."

The final group game will be the evening before Glastonbury Festival 2014 begins, on Tuesday June 24 at 5pm and the Quarter Final, if England were to reach that far in the competition, would take place on either the 4 or 5 July 2014.

Kasabian have been confirmed to headline the Sunday night of Glastonbury Festival 2014 and the Saturday night headliner is still to be announced but heavily rumoured to be US metal outfit Metallica. More than 90 acts have been officially announced for Glastonbury already and hundreds more are still to be announced before the event in late June.

Glastonbury Festival 2014 takes place from 25-29 June on Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset.
