Red Bull Studios returns to Donington and is once again offering the chance for more than half a dozen bands to play the rock and heavy metal festival, which takes place from 13 - 15 June 2014.

In 2013, eight new acts from all over the UK made it to play at Download in front of thousands: Searching Alaska, Akord, Semperfi, Surrender the Coast, Forever Can Wait, Falling With Style, Press To Meco and Sky Valley Mistress.

Bands are invited to upload a video to the Red Bull Studio website where they will be voted for by the general public and judged by a panel of leading industry experts including Kerrang Radio presenter Katie P, Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and Download Festival veterans Don Broco.

Entries will be accepted from the 1 - 21 April and the only criteria for bands is that they're unsigned, aged from 16 – 25 and residents of the UK.

100 will be shortlisted by public vote and put forward to the judges. Fifteen bands will then be chosen by the panel to head to Red Bull Studios in London for an all-encompassing professional studio experience. Of those, 8 bands will go through to play on the Red Bull Studios Live stage at Download Festival.

Download Festival 2014 takes place at Donington Park, Derby, Leicestershire from Friday 13 - Sunday 15 June.

Linkin Park, Avenged Sevenfold and Aerosmith have all been confirmed to headline the festival, with Rob Zombie, Fall Out Boy, Alter Bridge, In Flames, Status Quo, The Offspring and Opeth also previously confirmed to play.
