43-year-old alternative rock star Beck will make a rare festival appearance when he tops Bestival's Big Top on Thursday Sept 4. The American singer-songwriter will release his twelfth studio album, 'Morning Phase', through Capitol Records later this month - the first Beck album since 2008's 'Modern Guilt'.
Joining Friday night headliners OutKast atop the Bestival Main Stage will be rock darlings Foals, who headline the Saturday night of the festival. Last year their
third studio album, 'Holy Fire', cemented their status as one of the most explosive and effervescent British bands
of the moment, with a headline spot at Latitude 2013 also proving their credentials for incendiary live headline
performances.
Joining the two new headliners will be nine new line-up additions, including Bestival favourites Major Lazer and Disclosure,
the returning Wild Beasts and London Grammar - who produced one of the stand out moments of Bestival 2013.
Clean Bandit, Caribou, Chvrches, Laura Mvula and
Sam Smith also join the Bestival 2014 line-up. Many more are still to be announced, including a comedy and late
night electronica line-up, plus the Sunday night headliner.
Bestival head honcho, Rob da Bank
said: "Ahoy there shipmates and welcome to my desert island! Yes folks, HMS Bestival has set sail once more and we have
finally landed back on the Isle of Wight for our 11th instalment - a Desert Island Disco. Foals were voted best live act of last year and I'm delighted they'll be headlining
the Saturday night – there’s no better indie guitar band in the UK right now. Also donning a grass skirt and mirrorball
is a total icon of popular music and one of my favourite songwriters, Beck, plus disco darlings Disclosure, Diplo and his
Major Lazer crew and
all the hottest new bands from London Grammar to Clean Bandit. So get out of your deckchair and get ready to disco, my friends!"
Bestival takes place from 4-7 September at Robin Hill Country Park on
the Isle Of Wight.
