The announcement today (Jan 27) includes news of American Head Charge's return to the UK festival scene. The heavy metal band from Minnesota broke through in 2001 with their Rick Rubin produced second album 'The War Of Art' and, after a brief hiatus, reformed in 2011, going on to play first UK shows in seven years back in November of last year. The line-up also includes two other newly reformed US outfits - of varying reverence - Crazytown and Quicksand.

Grammy nominees Killswitch Engage will make Download Festival 2014 their only European festival of the year and fellow Download favourites Skindred also return to Donington, this time with their latest album 'Kill the Power'. Skindred’s lead singer Benji Webbe said: "The last few years have been an epic time for Skindred. The band has gone from strength to strength collecting more and more friends and fans along the way. This Download announcement has excited us more than ever, as we once again return to the home of ROCK. We shall bring and take to another level the energy and excitement that we are world renowned for. So bring a spare t-shirt and let’s get the Newport Helicopter flying higher than ever before."

Seether, September Mourning, The Used, Joe Bonamassa, Kill Devil Hill and Emmure have also been added to the Download Festival line-up for 2014.

King 810, Upon A Burning Body, Anathema, The Charm The Fury, Coldrain, Sabaton, New Politics, Malevolence, Polar, Heart in Hand and Lyger complete the new additions.
