The 45-year-old from Whitechapel, London began his career with Blur in 1988 whilst still at college. He's since gone on to front, produce and write for a number of musical projects and bands, including Gorillaz, The Good, The Bad And The Queen and Rocket Juice & the Moon.

Now he will play his first ever solo festival headline set, months after the release of his first ever solo album, 'Everyday Robots', due April 2013. Albarn debuted five ballads from the record at the Sundance Film Festival on Sunday night, accompanied by a string quartet, and concluded with a rendition of Blur’s 'To the End'.

His performance at the festival on Saturday 19 July will be his only UK festival appearance.

Damon Albarn joins previously announced Friday night headliners, Two Door Cinema Club. The third and final headliner for Sunday night of Latitude Festival 2014 is yet to be announced.
