Many of the acts return to Donington this year after a long tradition of playing there, including pop-punk outfit Bowling for Soup, who last played the festival in 2011 and have chosen to celebrate their 20th birthday at Download Festival 2014. Their lead singer Jaret Reddick said: "We are really stoked to be coming back to Download this year. First and foremost, our little band turns 20 this June, so what better way to celebrate! Music, beer and Portaloos! Also, it's a great opportunity to show our amazing UK fans that, although we don't have plans to tour any time soon, they will still get to see our pretty faces once in a while. Can. Not. Wait!"

Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society, Opeth, Flogging Molly, Bad Religion, The Bosshoss, Skid Row, Tesla, Bury Tomorrow, Danger Danger and Powerman 5000 have all been added to the three day festival line-up.

PHA and the Illegals, the latest project from former Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo, will also feature at the festival, which will be headlined by the previously announced trio: Linkin Park, Avenged Sevenfold and Aerosmith.

Huntress, The Graveltones and Anti-Mortem complete the new additions for the Download Festival 2014, which takes place at Donington Park, Derby, Leicestershire from Friday 13 - Sunday 15 June.
