With Dogs Die In Hot Cars being
touted to become Glasgow's next best thing and the stunning Lisa
Lashes rightly described as the Queen of Hard House, their inclusion is further proof that the Highland
Gathering will be THE place to be for New Year.
It all takes place at the Royal Highland
Centre in Ingliston, Edinburgh, on 31st December and will cater for up to 25,000 people over 12 hours!
Among those already
booked to play are Razorlight, Seb Fontaine, Supergrass, Erick
Morillo, Armand Van Helden, The Levellers and Lee 'Scratch' Perry
- certainly a diverse line-up and a deliberate ploy by organisers, who say they are trying to capture the 'summer
festival vibe' for the indoor music-marathon.

More cause for celebration is that the event has just secured its license by Edinburgh City Council. The party
was finally given the go-ahead at a meeting last week, after Lothian & Borders police, who had previously expressed
objections in light of percieved police staffing problems, gave it the green light.
According to a council spokesman:
"Highland Gathering is a very welcome addition to the City Of Edinburgh's annual festivities. We're delighted to
have such a varied, international line-up appearing here in Edinburgh and this event can only strengthen our reputation
as the world's number one party city for New Year's Eve."
