The early Monday morning announcement included the news that Brit-metal favourites Sikth are to reform. The alternative metal band, from Watford, formed in 1999 and found some success with their 2003 debut 'The Trees Are Dead & Dried Out Wait for Something Wild' but after their 2006 follow-up, 'Death of a Dead Day', decided to go their own way in early 2008. Download Festival will mark their first live performance since playing Islington Academy, London in September 2007.

The Dillinger Escape Plan, expected to feature on many end-of-the-year lists for their fifth studio album 'One of Us Is the Killer' - released in May of this year, will also join the Download Festival line-up.

Volbeat, Suicide Silence, Buckcherry, Memphis May Fire, Battlecross, Jake E. Lee's Red Dragon Cartel, Arcane Roots, Thy Art is Murder, The Amity Afflication, Avatar, Lonely The Brave and Feed The Rhino complete the new announcement.

Download Festival 2014 takes place at Donington Park, Derby, Leicestershire from Friday 13 - Sunday 15 June.

Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park and Aerosmith will, respectively, headline the Friday, Saturday and Sunday night of the festival. Main headline support comes from Rob Zombie on Friday, Fall Out Boy on Saturday and Alter Bridge on Sunday.
