Eleven new acts announced for Download Festival

Punk veterans, The Offspring return to Download Festival for the first time since 2008, their spexed guitarist Noodles commenting: "It's been six years since we first played Download and we can't wait to return and rip it up. Stoked!"

Elsewhere, Status Quo make their Download Festival debut and return to Donington Park after headlining Monsters of Rock Festival there in 1982.

Trivium, In Flames, Steel Panther, The Black Dahlia Murder, While She Sleeps, Blessthefall, Crossfaith, Letlive and Miss May I have also been announced to play the event.

Download Festival 2014 takes place at Donington Park, Derby, Leicestershire from 13-15 June.

Earlier this month, Download Festival fans had their Xmas wishes answered early as the festival responded to a social media campaign and booked Dying Fetus for the event next June.

Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park and Aerosmith will, respectively, headline the Friday, Saturday and Sunday night of the festival. Main headline support comes from Rob Zombie on Friday, Fall Out Boy on Saturday and Alter Bridge on Sunday.
