The 28-year-old singer, and co-writer for many of her songs, was a guest on Nick Grimshaw's Radio 1 Breakfast Show when she revealed the news that she will be playing Glastonbury Festival 2014.

Allen told Grimmy: "It got confirmed yesterday. That's the first big thing I'm going to be doing. I'll be doing 16 weeks of festivals over the summer and then tour.

"It's the best festival, I think – that, and Fuji Rock in Japan."

Glastonbury Festival 2014 will take place from 25-29 June on Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset.

Tickets to Glastonbury Festival 2014 sold out in record time last month, beating the one hour and 40 minute sale period set in 2012.

It is now tradition for a select few acts to confirm themselves for Glastonbury Festival ahead of the official announcement, expected in April, however all self-confirmations are unconfirmed until the festival has officially made their announcement.

Those lucky enough to have got tickets now have to wait until the first week of April in 2014 when the remaining ticket balances of £160 plus a £5 booking fee will be due for both Uk and international buyers. The re-sale date is usually in late April and is expected to be announced for either April 20th or 27th in 2014.
