Michael Eavis strips for charity calendar

Chris Swindells on 14 November 2013

The 'Legend of Somerset', Michael Eavis, gets his legend(s) out for a nude charity calendar raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The shoot took place at the symbolic stone circles on the Glastonbury Festival site near Pilton, Somerset.

Photographer Jason Bryant, who organised the calendar, told the Western Morning News that 78-year-old Mr Eavis was a willing participant.

Mr Bryant said: "He was a great model and didn't hesitate in getting his kit off. But then he has got a great set of legs for a man of his age."

11 other Somerset stars also feature in the calendar, including Chris Jagger (brother of Mick) and impresario Gerry Cottle, who owns Wookey Hole.

Macmillan Cancer Support provide practical, medical and financial support for those affected by cancer and pushes for better cancer care.

Two of the stars of the calendar, Wayne Stiling and Mark Tobin, have had personal experience of the help given to cancer patients by Macmillan.

The calendar will be available from today (Nov 14) from various locations in the local Somerset area, including Wells Cinema, The Swan Hotel, City News, Griggs Newsagents and a stall in Wells Market Place on Saturdays. The calendar costs £10.
