American rockers Aerosmith formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1970 and last headlined Download Festival in 2010. They have sold more than 150 million albums worldwide. Fronted by Steven Tyler, Aerosmith have had a series of hit singles, including 'Dude (Looks Like a Lady)', 'Love in an Elevator' and 'I Don't Want to Miss a Thing'.

Aerosmith will headline the Main Stage at Download Festival 2014 on Sounday June 15, playing directly after Alter Bridge. The band join fellow headliners Linkin Park and Avenged Sevenfold, plus Rob Zombie and Fall Out Boy - also announced for the festival this week.

Lead guitarist Joe Perry said: "It’s been too long since we've been to England and we're sincerely f**ing charged to be coming back! See you there."

Download Festival 2014 takes place at Donington Park, Derby, Leicestershire from 13-15 June.
