The tickets, estimated to be approximately 140,000, sold out in one hour and 27 minutes, at approximately 10:28am on Sunday October 6th.

Michael and Emily Eavis posted this following message online, following the news that tickets had sold out in record time.

Thousands reported issues with the SeeTickets website from 9am, when tickets went on sale, however the ticket vendor was quick to spot a technical issue and repair it, speeding up the process for thousands and Emily Eavis reported at one point that 3,000 tickets a minute were being processed.

As is now traditional, many thousands of people were also left disappointed and without tickets. More than a million people had registered for Glastonbury Festival tickets and it was estimated that most of them would be trying this morning to buy theirs for next June.

Those lucky enough to have got tickets now have to wait until the first week of April in 2014 when the remaining ticket balances of £160 plus a £5 booking fee will be due, for both UK and international buyers.

Everyone else can expect the tickets which are left unpaid after that week in April to go back on sale at a re-sale date, expected to be announced in the new year. The re-sale date is usually in late April and is expected to be announced for either April 20th or 27th in 2014.

Glastonbury Festival 2014 will take place from 25-29 June on Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset.
