Bestival 2013 takes place from 5-8 September on Robin Hill Country Park, Isle of Wight and the fancy dress loving, family-friendly festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year.

Bestival have revealed 'HMS Bestival' as their theme and the weather seems to have plans to join in with a decidedly wet forecast for the nautical weekend.

Those arriving on the Thursday will be rewarded for their early arrival, being greeted by temperatures of up to 23°C and beautiful sun all day, they will be pitching their tents in perfect conditions. After such a perfect summers day the early birds can enjoy an opening party in the Big Top tent with the irrepressibly energetic M.I.A, who will no doubt channel that summery energy into a performance that teases the crowd into a frenzied rave.

Friday see’s HMS Bestival hitting stormy waters, light to heavy showers are forecast all day and temperatures peak at 15°C. No amount of rain will put out the candles on the Bestival’s 10th anniversary cake which will be taking the form of The Flaming Lips and Fatboy Slim’s sets on the main stage, these performances are gauranteed to be spectacular no matter the weather.

Saturday will usher in slightly better conditions, trading the showers for cloud cover. Whilst light showers are forecast at around 4pm the day should mostly stay dry, temperatures are again set to peak at 15°C. Winds will pick up on Saturday coming in from the west-south-west and blowing at 18mph with gusts of up to 30mph, this would be good news for actual sailors but maybe not for those in fancy dress who may lose their pirate hats in the breeze. Snoop Dogg and The Roots are two of the hip hop legends taking to the main stage on Saturday. With Snoop’s anthemic lyricism and The Roots being backed by a full band these sets are sure to silence the winds.

Sunday is going to be smooth sailing for the Bestival revellers. With no rain forecast and the cloud cover being intermittently broken by sunny intervals throughout the day. Temperatures are expected to rise to 16°C. The conditions are perfect for the festival band of the summer Chic to bring the disco groove and ready the crowd for the festival finale headliner Elton John.

The rain returns to remind those leaving on Monday how the majority of their weekend went, also to hinder the tent dismantling process, however the rains should stop at around 4pm. With a limited amount of space on the ferries off the island, festival goers are advised it is always better to leave sooner rather than later.
