Kendal Calling takes place in the heart of the beautiful Lake District, at Lowther Deer Park from 26-28 July. Here is a pick of five artists likely to leave Kendal crowds calling out for more.

The Charlatans

After bringing his metaphysical diner Tim Peaks into reality at Kendal Calling last year, The Charlatans' vocalist Tim Burgess returns again in 2013 - this time bringing the rest of the band as well as the coffee. They'll be playing hits such as 'The Only One I Know' on the main stage at what Burgess called 'one of his favourite festivals ever', along with material from their highly successful eleven studio albums. Be sure to pop into the Tim Peaks Diner aswell, which started life existing only on twitter and radio 6 but now enjoys it's second year as a real diner at Kendall Calling 2013.

Basement Jaxx

Grammy award winning Basement Jaxx will bring hits such as 'Where's Your Head At' to Kendal Calling's Main Stage along with the help of their live band this year. With over 3 million album sales worldwide and new material expected this year, Simon Ratcliffe and Felix Buxton have sold out everything from the Hollywood Bowl and London's O2 Arena to Hyde Park, in addition to scoring the soundtrack for 2011 film Attack the Block - making them an unmissable Friday night headliner.

Johnny Marr

Since forming The Smiths in 1982, Marr is renowned as one of the UK's greatest guitarists ever. Sessions with acts such as The Cribs and The Pretenders post The Smiths, cemented Marr's place in the English music hall of fame. The release of his debut solo album 'The Messenger' in February, won Marr the title of 'Godlike Genius' at the 2013 NME Awards. Witness Marr in all his godlike glory before he sets off on tour this October.

Nina Nesbitt

Playing The Calling Out stage this year is 19 year old 'The Apple Tree' singer Nina Nesbitt. Recently signed to Island Records, the Scottish singer-songwriter began her career playing small acoustic nights at Edinburgh's Electric Circus before a chance meeting with Ed Sheeran led to a supporting spot on his tour, as well as for Example on his arena tour - despite only leaving school last year. This year has seen the release of two new EPs and preparation for the debut album, due for release in 2014. Don't miss out on the set that has attracted crowds at festivals across the country.

The 1975

Manchester based rock band The 1975 will play The Calling Out stage this year, featuring songs from their 4 EPs that have earned them extensive Radio 1 airtime and a spot supporting Muse at Emirates Stadium this summer. Be sure to catch hits 'Chocolate' and 'Sex' at Kendal Calling before they embark on their sold out UK tour this September.
