More music fans festival abroad as trips become easier

30 percent increase in Brits booking overseas festivals in 2013

More music fans festival abroad as trips become easier

Virtual Festivals - 14 June 2013

Speaking about the increase, Zack Sabban, founder of Festicket.com, who package together festival tickets, travel and accommodation said: “There are so many incredible festivals around these days and people are often missing out if they don’t look overseas.

"We’ve seen bookings from the UK increase as festival-goers head abroad to see some amazing bands in some incredible venues like disused forts, former airports and on beautiful beaches. The good weather helps too.”

Destinations like Croatia, Italy and Spain have all seen a huge spike in new bijou music events catering for a wide range of musical tastes and a great number of visitors from around the globe.

Many festivals on the continent are offering stellar line-ups with ticket prices far lower than those in the UK.

OFF Festival in Poland is just one of the best value festivals. This year will see Smashing Pumpkins, My Bloody Valentine and Deerhunter all play the award-winning event in August. Festival passes start from £41 and hotel accommodation with festival passes costs as little as £122 per person.

However, the process of finding the right festival and then booking tickets, travel, transfers and accommodation separately has proven a real struggle. 75% of respondents questioned in the VF UK Festival Census 2012 said that they would consider booking a package that includes all of those elements and fortunately, websites like Festicket.com have emerged to help.

Festicket.com, founded in early 2012, is an innovative website that packages together festival tickets with travel, accommodation and add-ons to create complete festival trips.

Offering packages to more than 50 festivals this summer - including giant Danish party Roskilde Festival and Hungary’s Sziget Festival, featuring Blur and David Guetta – Festicket.com have seen UK bookings rise by 30% in 2013.

Prices start from just 22€ per person and include tickets, travel, accommodation and add-ons to some of the world’s greatest events including Tomorrowland in Belgium, EXIT Festival in Serbia, Melt! Festival in Germany and TomorrowWorld in the USA.

Aside from these you can find packages for Spain’s biggest rave, Monegros Desert Festival, Love Family Park in Germany and Croatia’s SunceBeat and Unknown festivals, plus many more.
