Primavera Sound was first held in Barcelona, Spain back in 2001 and returns for its 14th edition next May. The Primavera organisation now manages both the original festival and its little sister event, Optimus Primavera Sound, in Porto, Portugal, which first took place in 2012.

At midday today (June 10) a total of 2,000 tickets for Primavera Sound 2014, priced at just 115 EUR, went on sale and were completely sold out by 12:15PM. Instead of the 1,000 tickets initially planned for release, 2,000 tickets were made available, to compensate for some difficulties encountered with sales on the 3rd June owing to a collapse of the sales system.

The next batch of tickets, priced at 145 EUR (approximately £123) go on sale tomorrow and are available until September 2nd, or they sell out, whichever comes first.

The newly reformed Neutral Milk Hotel have already been confirmed for Primavera Sound 2014. All future Primavera Sound festival tickets will be sold at various ticket tier levels, and they go on sale over the following dates:

From 11th June to 2nd September 2013: 145€ (approximately £123)

From 3rd September 2013 to 6th January 2014: 160€ (approximately £136)

From 7th January 2014 to the presentation of the line up: 175€ (approximately £149)

From the presentation of the line up to the beginning of the festival: 195€ (approximately £166)
