The American indie-rockers were formed in 1989 by Jeff Mangum and found critical acclaim and cult status with their 1998 long player 'In the Aeroplane Over the Sea'. Mangum announced the band were to go on indefinite hiatus from late 1998 and he has only returned for a string of infrequent solo shows since that time. The announcement today confirms the original 'In the Aeroplane Over the Sea' line-up will reform under the Neutral Milk Hotel moniker for a live tour, including Primavera Sound 2014.

Primavera Sound 2014 will take place in Barcelona, Spain from May 29-31 and more acts are expected to be announced towards the end of the year.

The touring line-up for Neutral Milk Hotel is Jeff Mangum, Scott Spillane, Julian Koster, and Jeremy Barnes, the band that formed after the release of 'On Avery Island' in 1996.

Primavera Sound 2013 is enjoying its final day today. The line-up this year included My Bloody Valentine, Phoenix, Dinosaur Jr., Grizzly Bear, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, The Breeders and Wu-Tang Clan.

Blur played an historic headline set at the festival on Friday night, their first show in Spain for a decade. Click here for our full report.
